 As form factor, you can choose among the especially compact TP 177B 4 inch widescreen, the TP 177A – which can also be installed in portrait (upright) orientation – and the traditional 6 inch Touch Panel TP 177B or the Operator Panel OP 177B with combined touch and key operation. For every operating philosophy, the right device can be found within the 170 series. Siemens offers innovated successors for all of the series 170 Panels, you can choose among 4" to 7" panels from the families of Basic or Comfort Panels operated by touch screen or keyboard or a combination of both.

Design and functions
 Universal entry-level device for standard requirements with touchscreen operation and 5.7 inch STN display in two variations. The price-optimized TP 177B DP monochrome features a blue-mode display and a PROFIBUS DP interface.The TP 177B PN/DP color offers a 256 color display as well as an additional PROFINET-enabled Ethernet interface The TP 177B is available as monochrome device with 4 blue levels or as color model with 256 colors. The user memory of 2 MB can be expanded further via MultiMedia card, e.g., for recipes. The alarm buffer is preserved even if the device is turned off. As color model, the TP 177B possesses a PROFINET-enabled Ethernet interface.
 For the special requirements of the food & beverage industry, a model with stainless steel front is available.
Please notice the recommended successors for the Series 170 Panels: The TP 1777A can be replaced by the mounting compatible KTP600 Bassic mono PN, which meets the requirements of most of the possible tasks covered by an TP177A at a lower price. As a successor of the 6 inch TP/OP 177B devices we recommend the migration to the more powerful 7 inch devices from the Comfort Panel family TP700 Comfort and KP700 Comfort, their functionality exceeds the one of the Series 170 Panels by far. The TP700 Comfort can use the installation cutout of a 6 inch TP 177 anyhow.The successor of a TP 177B 4" wide screen is the corresponding 4 inch device within the Comfort Panel family, the KTP400 Comfort.
